- Panning or Moving the Map
The route overview map is displayed
after the driving directions. Use the panning frame surrounding the
map to move your map in any of eight different directions. Clicking
on the top (North), bottom (South), right (East) or left (West) side of
the frame will pan your map in that direction. Clicking on the corners
will pan your map Northeast, Northwest, Southeast and Southwest.
- Zooming or Changing the Map Level
Use the zoom bar,
located to the left of the map, to change your map level. MapQuest
offers ten different predefined zoom levels from continent level to
street or road level. You can change your map one level at a time by clicking
on the larger buttons at the top and bottom of the zoom bar, or you can go
directly to any zoom level by clicking the appropriate smaller button on
the zoom bar. The highlighted button on the zoom bar indicates the zoom
level of your current map.
To re-centre the map, use the "Re-Centre" radio button located directly below the map. When this option is selected, clicking on any spot on your map will redraw the map, centring it on the point clicked.
