The Lakehead Region Conservation Authority (LRCA) is a community-based environmental nonprofit agency focused on the conservation, restoration, development, and management of natural resources within the Lakehead Watershed. Established in 1954, the LRCA administers programs that mitigate natural hazards, manage owned lands, and protect sources of drinking water while offering various public stewardship and environmental education initiatives.

With eight conservation areas, the LRCA provides a range of activities for individuals and families, including opportunities for exploration and recreation in both summer and winter. The Authority also engages in forest management and monitoring of water levels to ensure the sustainability of natural habitats and resources in the region.
