The Saskatoon Soccer Centre Inc. (SSCI) was established in 1993 as a non-profit corporation by the local soccer community to promote the sport through the management of their own facilities. The Saskatoon Kinsmen/Henk Ruys Soccer Centre opened its doors in 1998, thanks to collaborative efforts with the City of Saskatoon and various organizations. Since then, the SSCI has become a haven for more than 10,000 soccer enthusiasts annually.

In response to the growing demand for soccer facilities, a new venue was constructed in 2003, featuring one indoor and two outdoor artificial grass fields, along with hardcourt surfaces. This expansion allowed leagues to schedule a substantial number of games without the limitations of natural grass fields. The Saskatoon Sports Centre, attached to Centennial Collegiate, boasts additional amenities such as a walking track, circuit center, and plans for a future civic facility.

SSCI's commitment to the community goes beyond hosting sports leagues and events. With over 1.4 million visitors each year, the facilities cater to a variety of sports like soccer, volleyball, ball hockey, and more, as well as cultural and special occasions. Through community support via rentals, advertising, and sponsorship, SSCI continues to provide a world-class experience for sports enthusiasts and event organizers alike.
