The work of the Deutsches Bergbau-Museum Bochum, as the leading international museum on the mining industry, takes place within this socially relevant context. As one of the Leibniz Association’s research museums, the DBM is devoted to investigating the extraction, processing and utilization of mineral raw materials in the context of social, cultural, ecological and economic dynamics, spanning different historical periods. Das Kunstmuseum Bochum befindet sich in der Kortumstraße und bietet eine vielfältige Sammlung zeitgenössischer Kunst sowie Wechselausstellungen. Besonders bemerkenswert ist die Ausstellung von Fluxus-Kunst aus dem Nachlass der Galeristin Inge Baecker, die vom 8. November 2025 bis zum 1. Februar 2026 zu sehen sein wird.
