Registration or pre-booking essential. For visitors, the Milstein exhibition centre showcases some of the library's collections. Each exhibition runs for around six months, and are free of charge and open to all ages. Cambridge University Library is the main research library of the University of Cambridge, and one of the six legal deposit libraries in the United Kingdom and Ireland. The library houses approximately eight million books, maps, manuscripts and journals, augmented by an ever-increasing range of electronic resources. The library welcomes users from all over the world; readers aged 18 years of age or over are able to register and access the library.
