East Friars

East Friars is our eclectic family home situated on the banks of the River Wye in Hereford. A five-minute walk to the City Centre or open countryside, we welcome guests to our relaxed, laid back, comfortable house. With access to and from the river a this is a perfect overnight stop for canoers or holiday spot for walkers and fishermen. There is a pontoon for mooring if you arrive by river (direct access from the river to the terrace) or safe off-road parking if you arrive by more conventional transport. Ideal for families, small parties and anyone young at heart. We offer a large family room (one queen-size plus two singles)with ensuite bathroom and views of the river, a twin / triple ensuite overlooking the garden and a garden annex room with its own entrance, ensuite showroom and double bed. The house is full of books, art and (often) music. Just a place to relax, be yourself and eat great home-cooked food. Breakfast and evening meals are provided by Polly who retrained as a Chef after years in marketing. Enjoy locally sourced food and homemade bread in the Conservatory overlooking the River Wye. We are happy to provide a packed lunch for your onward journey. You'll meet our very friendly Cockerton dog, two cats, three doves and our offspring of varying ages. We pride ourselves on being friendly and informal. Children very welcome. Well behaved pets can come too. Rooms from £65. Evening meals £15 a head.
