Ellesmere House

Ellesmere is a stunning family-run, home-from-home, award-winning B&B in Castle Cary, near Bruton, featured in The Daily Telegraph, Country Life magazine and BBC Worldwide. It is a large, beautifully decorated three-floored, double-fronted Victorian property on the edge of town, a few minutes walk from the main high street, backing onto fields and stunning farmland owned by The Newt in Somerset. In 2023, the online search engine KAYAK awarded us Best B&B for the exceptional quality of our service and customer reviews. The rooms are individually decorated, are all a good size, have TVs, free wifi, kettles, breakfast drinks, mini fridges, hairdryers and use of an iron. Families and dogs are welcome. Parking is free and is either directly outside the house or in our drive on request. Our breakfasts are generous and include croissants, home-made granola and muesli as well as home-made compotes jams and marmalade, the ingredients for which are either sourced locally or from our garden. Our coffee and scrambled eggs are legendary and delicious bread is from a top local artisan baker. We cater for all dietary requirements and use as much of our own home-made or locally-sourced produce as possible. Please let us know allergies in advance.
