FRADE, the Furniture Reclamation and Delivery Enterprise, originated in the 1980s and 1990s as a response from faith communities in Stockton on Tees to changes in welfare benefit legislation. By mobilizing local generosity, FRADE collects surplus furniture to provide at minimal cost to households in need, as referred by welfare organizations.

With three shops located in Stockton, Darlington, and Middlesbrough, FRADE sells these donated goods to the general public and offers discounts through the FRADEcard to selected groups. Their mission is to support those struggling to furnish their new tenancies, ensuring that no one faces the burden of unfunded essential items.
