Knot's Bar

This converted Norwegian passenger ferry, now a charming bar and restaurant, is opportunely located on Farndon’s picturesque marina, surrounded by 400 other fine vessels. Richard Machin and Zoe Harrison welcome one-and-all aboard to relax with a pint of traditional ale and a light bite in the bar. Many choose to make a night of it by booking into the restaurant, which offers an extensive, seasonally changing à la carte menu courtesy of the skilled chefs.Within the brand new kitchen, they use only the best local ingredients from Newark’s farms and markets.The passion for great presentation, quality and attention to detail is not limited to the food – it is evident in everything at Knots, from the ambiance to the service. With its unique setting and lovely decor, including many a maritime feature and photograph, Knots strives to offer a comfortable atmosphere and the utmost relaxation for its guests. The team also hosts live entertainment evenings each month. Visit on Thursdays for pie and a-pint night or Friday evenings to enjoy fresh fish and chips for just £5. On Sunday a traditional three-courseroast is served for £10.95; later, dustoff the old general knowledge for quiz night from 9.30pm on Fridays. It’s worth noting that after 5pm the marina has limited access, but give Richard a quick ring and you’ll be inside enjoying all Knots has tooffer in no time.
