Standing on the site of the first ironstone mine in Cleveland, Land of Iron allows you to get up close and explore a rich and fascinating history. This hands-on journey takes you back 150 years to a time of industrial revolution when the area and its people supplied over a third of the worlds Iron and Steel. An all new-for-2023 exhibition Journey back to a different time with the aid of photographs, mementos and objects that tell a fascinating story of the life and work of the miners and their families. The interactive exhibition is designed with every age in mind.
