Crown Street
Cockermouth, England CA13 0EJ
Built in 1847 as a family home, The Manor House Hotel is a 19th Century Georgian Style Grade II listed building, originally named “The Grecian Villa” which many locals in the town still know it as to this day. The building is packed with period features including an elegant wood-panelled spiral staircase topped off with a domed ceiling skylight, decorative cornices, ceiling roses, dado rails, picture rails and our very own curved door! The hotel is situated at the western end of the tree lined Main Street in the beautiful Georgian market town of Cockermouth, the childhood home of William Wordsworth. The town derives it’s name from the confluence of the River Cocker as it joins the river Derwent and lies on the edge of the beautiful Lake District National Park. Feel the elegance and grandeur as you climb the spiral staircase to the comfort of your room – where no two rooms are alike with a mix of high ceilings and wooden beams. You will find modern amenities in your room including complimentary high speed wi-fi, flat screen Freeview television, luxury bathroom products and welcome tray. The hotel also offers free parking to the front of the hotel and a secured, outdoor storage area is available for pedal bikes.
