Mersey Motor Boat Club

The Mersey Motor Boat Club, established in 1932 at Litherland, is one of the oldest inland waterways cruising clubs in existence, dedicated to fostering interest in boat building, cruising, and social interactions among enthusiasts. Affiliated with the Inland Waterways Association and the Association of Inland Waterways Cruising Clubs, the club aims to promote inland waterways and related activities.

Located at the side of the canal off Pilling Lane in Lydiate, the MMBC clubhouse, built in 1953, features a function hall with a dance floor and a separate bar area for private events. The club offers three sets of linear moorings along the Leeds Liverpool Canal, ensuring convenient access for visitors and members alike.
