Station Road
Dereham, England NR19 1DF
The Mid-Norfolk Railway offers a great heritage railway experience, run mainly by volunteers. Climb on-board a steam or heritage diesel train, travel as it used to be in a compartment or open carriage the 22 mile round trip through the Heart of Norfolk’s amazing scenery on board lovingly restored carriages and engines at this must-see visitor attraction. Explore the Railway • Dereham Station has been restored to its 1960s feel, with tea room and museum, Yaxham Station has changed little since it closed in 1969. Half way, the newly restored Thuxton Station and Signal box is often where you pass another train. Award winning Hardingham Station is being restored by its owner and is open on special occasions, Kimberley Park is also beautifully resorted by owner and then Wymondham Abbey halt has its recently restored signal box and is a short walk from the historic Wymondham Abbey itself and beautiful market town, full of independent shops, restaurants and public houses.
