King's Parade
New Brighton, England CH45 2HZ
A trail of beautiful 'life-sized' Mermaid statues based on the 18th century local legend of The Black Rock Mermaid. Designed by local artist Barry Canning-Eaton and decorated by local schools and arts group. Follow the Trail around the resort and read the story of the legend as told by local storyteller Cathy Roberts. Map guides available for £1. Created by New Brighton Coastal Community Team. *Update - unfortunately our beautiful mermaid, Paxtonea, in Vale Park was damaged but the community is rallying together and we hope that she can rise again from the ashes soon*.
