Main Street Sinnington.
Pickering, England YO62 6SQ
This attractive 18th-Century former coaching inn sits in one of the prettiest villages in North Yorkshire which offers a warm welcome the minute you arrive. A little loop road just off the A170 Helmsley to Pickering road on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors, Sinnington has everything a classic English village should; a maypole, a village green, a 12th century church and ducks feeding on the beck that gently winds its way through the village. There are pretty riverside and woodland walks nearby. This newly refurbished establishment has everything a country inn should: a cosy bar with an open fire which delivers a rustic and relaxing atmosphere; a contemporary restaurant that boasts oak tables and intimate dining; also a comfortable residents lounge where you can enjoy an aperitif before dinner in the soft leather chairs in front of the fire with a beautiful stone surround. But wherever you choose to sit, you can be assured of a delicious meal. The chefs, in their state of the art kitchen, source many of their ingredients locally, making the most of the area's fine meats and fish and home grown vegetables and herbs. An a la carte menu is served every evening with typical dishes of Tournedos Rossini and Monkfish with cod cheeks, lemon snow and vinegar gel and pont neuf potatoes. Chefs specials are also offered for both lunch and dinner. Lighter lunches are on offer through the week. All puddings are homemade and you can sample such delights as a passionfruit soufflé or chocolate delice with gold leaf. Fresh bread is baked every morning and the chefs like to try different ingredients for evening dinners complimentary bread. Flavours have included parmesan and chive or chorizo and sun dried tomato which compliment chefs homemade salted butter. Sundays bring traditional roasts with a range of different options - including rump or sirloin of beef, loin of pork and leg of lamb served with a wonderful selection of vegetables and a Yorkshire Pudding. All 14 bedrooms are en suite and whether you choose to book our luxury cottage rooms or the traditional doubles you are sure to sleep well. All rooms have been refurbished to a very high specification with beautiful marbled tiles and exquisite fabrics. Breakfast will leave you replete as we serve a generous continental or the full works for those with a busy day ahead.
