Retford & Worksop Boat Club

The Retford and Worksop Boat Club, established in 1961, was formed by passionate boating enthusiasts who successfully campaigned against the prohibition of navigation on the 26-mile stretch of waterway between West Stockwith and Worksop. Their efforts contributed to significant changes in the 1968 transport act, ensuring the waterway's future as a fully maintained Cruiseway.

Since achieving their initial goal, the club has shifted its focus towards the social aspects of boating. They currently offer visitor moorings on a space-available basis, providing amenities such as electricity and nearby water points for boating enthusiasts.
