Sherborne Street
Gloucester, England GL1 3BY
Gloucester's Sherborne Cinema was originally built as The Friends' Sherborne Street Mission Room in 1880 and was the centre for community activities including childrens' film shows ( priced at sixpence each! ) in what was once the densely populated industrial part of Kingsholm known as 'Clapham'. When the area was re-built, the building survived as a Christadelphian Hall. From 2012 to 2014 it was lovingly restored by a team of specialists, carefully preserving its historic features whilst fitting out the interior as an art-deco cinema. Now the nearly 150 year old building is enjoying a new life offering top quality film entertainment in a colourful setting which will take you back to the golden age of cinema.
