The Black Dog Inn

The Black Dog Inn is a traditional country pub located in a quiet rural setting outside the town of Dalton in Furness in the Cumbrian countryside. In 2019 the pub was renovated and 3 brand new en-suite rooms were created, all of which are modern and tastefully decorated with rustic oak furniture throughout. Comfy beds offer our guests a great nights sleep and all rooms are equipped with nespresso coffee machines, flat screen TV’s with digital freeview and complimentary wifi throughout. The Inn is the perfect location for a country break where wellies, walks and unwinding are the order of the day. Perfectly located to explore Lake District landmarks and rolling fells with Lake Windermere only a 20 minute drive away and Coniston Lake a 25 minute drive through scenic countryside and historic lakeland villages. Whether wandering the fells or visiting the ruins of Furness Abbey, strolling the National Trusts Sandscale Haws nature reserve, Seal spotting at Walney Island or feeding the animals at South Lakes Safari Zoo, The Black Dog Inn is the ideal place to return to for a good nights sleep after unwinding with a pint or glass of something in front of the fire.
