Welcome to the Blackbird, Ponteland. A rural setting with all of the trappings of a favourite country pub. Ponteland Castle was destroyed by the Scots in 1388 – and the ruins were incorporated into a Tudor manor house that eventually became The Blackbird. Restoration in the 1930s revealed a fine fireplace and an ancient tower, which you can see today. From unforgettable food to the finest of ales including over very our Blackbird Bitter and the largest selection of spirits and over 70 gins, there are simply endless reasons to visit us at the Blackbird, Ponteland. Our beautiful Minstrel Gallery is available for private hire if you are hosting a private party or special dinner our character-filled gallery is the perfect setting.
