The Leaping Salmon

We’re a cosy, truly independent free house, set next to the beautiful River Walkham in Horrabridge. Our small, family-run team prioritises care and warmth for our community, respect for our environment and our ingredients, and a passion for making your visit special. We have a very simple ethos at The Leaping Salmon: we source as much as we can from as close as we can. Our aim is to offer interesting food, drink and accommodation on Dartmoor that is sustainable, ethically conscious, and good value for money.  The historic building itself has been recently refurbished and tastefully decorated, making the most of what the building already had to offer, with inglenook fireplaces, stone walls, beamed ceilings, and lots of natural light. We have under-floor heating, disabled access, highchairs, a big car park, a tiered beer garden where you can watch the sunset over the village, and our very own vegetable garden and poly-tunnel where we grow as much of our own produce as possible.
