7 Rock Street
Brighton, England BN2 1NF
Formerly "The Rock Inn" this newly refurbished and repainted 18C tavern is once again becoming a focus for the surrounding community. Inspired by Lewis Carroll who wrote "Alice in Wonderland" just around the corner in Sussex Square, the tavern has changed it's name to "The Mad Hatter Inn" with beautifully commissioned paintings and sketches of characters from the famous novel decorating the walls. This former smuggler's haunt with an original well in the basement, now plays host to parties and events accommodated in two functions rooms, two sun-trapped gardens and catered by local charitable concern, "Cherubs Kitchen". Traditional British pub dishes are available daily all lovingly prepared and cooked on the premises in a brand new industrial kitchen and events catering from buffets through to banquets can also be arranged! New life has been breathed into the pub which now has large TV screens for main sports fixtures, a Darts team and Pool team and regular live music featuring local bands e.g. "The A Train" jazz jam, "The Tenderhooks" and "The Doctors".
