A place of refreshment since 1647, The Purple Dog pub is one of the oldest pubs in Colchester. Serving award winning ales, beers and wines with a range of coffees and delicious homemade food with a friendly welcoming atmosphere. Due to government restrictions, we are now operating as a restaurant. Therefore, alcohol may only be purchased with a meal. Households cannot mix indoors but up to 6 people can mix outside.
