Wakefield Cathedral

We are Joyful. We are Generous. We are Inclusive. For over 1000 years people have been gathering in this holy place, set in the heart of the city of Wakefield, to offer their prayers and praise to Almighty God. We have made public our desire that everyone who lives across the Wakefield District will engage with the cathedral at least once a year. We hope to be a place of conversation for people of all faiths and none, and a cultural hub in the city centre. We are open seven days a week, 365 days a year and whether you are visiting for an event or a service, to light a candle, say a prayer or just to take a moment for quiet reflection, we endeavour to offer a warm welcome to all who enter or pass by our doors.
