Our team pride themselves on creating a welcoming, family environment and do everything we can to make the transition to our home as smooth as possible for our residents and those closest to them. The home has cosy lounges, which are the perfect setting for residents to unwind and enjoy a good book or spend time with their visitors.Princess Louise also has an activities room, which acts as the hub of the nursing home. This is where our residents enjoy a wide range of stimulating and inspiring activities that are truly person-centred; from baking and doing arts and crafts to listening to live musical entertainment. We even have our very own sensory room, where residents can relax while enjoying a multi-sensory experience. Finally, we have a very large garden which includes a water feature, sensory planting and even has raised flower beds and a greenhouse. Our residents, many of whom enjoy gardening, love to sow seeds or tend to the flowers and plants, thanks to the easy reach beds.
We're proud to launch A Lifetime of Flavours, a heartfelt celebration of food, family, and the incredible lives behind the dishes. This beautifully curated cookbook features over 40 cherished recipes from Sanctuary Care residents across the UK. This isn't just a recipe collection, it's a part of how we bring to life our Enriching Lives Framework, which is based on research into what truly matters as we age. At the heart of this book is one of our 'Six Senses'; the Sense of Continuity. We believe in empowering those in our care to sustain their passions, identities and routines - such as cooking! From traditional pasties and spicy curries to comforting cakes and festive favourites, each dish tells a story, a memory passed down through generations. 👩🏽‍🍳👨‍🍳 Whether it's Iona's Clootie Dumplings, Delita's Jamaican Goat Curry, or Malcolm's Cornish Splits, every page is filled with love, legacy, and the joy of sharing. 🧡 Why this book matters: - It celebrates the Sense of Continuity for our wonderful residents - It honours the culinary traditions of our residents - It preserves family recipes for future generations - It celebrates the power of food to connect, comfort and inspire Proceeds raised via our initial limited print run will go towards supporting Mental Health UK💙
