Castle Roy
Castle Roy, a 12th-century fortress located near the village of Nethy Bridge, was initially built by the Clan Comyn and later came under the stewardship of the Clan Grant in 1420. The castle, notable for its well-preserved 25-foot high walls, features an irregular four-sided stronghold with unique architectural elements, including a tower and a central entrance archway.
Since the Castle's ownership transfer to the Castle Roy Trust in 1994, efforts to stabilise and preserve the structure for future generations have been ongoing. The grounds have evolved into a community venue, accommodating events such as weddings and outdoor performances, while promoting sustainability and nature appreciation. Generated from the website
