Forsinard, Scotland KW13 6YT
The Flow Country is a large, rolling area of peatland in Caithness and Sutherland in the north of Scotland. It is the largest expanse of blanket bog in Europe and is home to a rich variety of wildlife. Together with associated areas of moorland and open water, large areas of the peatlands are designated as Sites of Special Scientific Interest. They are recognised as being of national importance for conservation both as a habitat in their own right and because of the diverse range of rare and unusual breeding birds they support. At Forsinard you will find our Visitor Centre (April-October) along with two trails and our boardwalk and Flows Viewing Tower. Discover more about the peatlands and why they are so special, as well as the opportunity to see some wildlife and take in views of the vast landscape. After restrictions on opening in 2020 and 2021 due to COVID we are hoping to have the centre open 7 days a week again (0900-1700) in 2022. We look forward to welcoming you.
