Gio’s Italian Trattoria is an exciting new addition to the well known La Lombarda Restaurant name on The Castlegate in Aberdeen. First opened in 1922 by Giuseppe Berni (Joe) before being taken over by his only daughter Monica and her husband Fabrizio Necchi in 1964, La Lombarda is the oldest Italian run family restaurant in the UK. Monica and Fabrizio’s youngest daughter Chantal has now taken over the much loved family restaurant. Taking a life long love of good food and the dining experience into Gio’s and working closely with a small team of talented young local chefs, Chantal has created an inviting and relaxed dinning space in the centre of Aberdeen which serves beautifully prepared authentic Italian cuisine
