Located in Edinburgh's Stockbridge, the Macdonald Academy of Arms is dedicated to the study and practice of a wide array of European Martial Arts and Historical Fencing. Following the traditions of the renowned fencing academies that thrived in Edinburgh until the late 1800s, it aims to replicate martial arts forms prevalent in Western Europe since the 13th century.

Students at the Macdonald Academy have the opportunity to gain proficiency in various weapon forms, including backsword, longsword, smallsword, rapier, Italian and Spanish quarterstaff, and Italian cane. Under the expert guidance of Maestro Paul Macdonald and Chef du Salle Stephen Kilbane, training is both engaging and rigorous, focusing on reviving a true living tradition that challenges both body and mind.
