We look forward to welcoming you to our family run traditional inn located in the heart of Aberdeenshire overlooking Bennachie (in the Eastern Grampian Mountains). Now in our thirty first year we continue to strive to make our guests feel at home. As well as six individually decorated rooms we also run an award winning restaurant and bar. Pull up a stool at our bar or relax and enjoy a variety of malt whiskies including a selection from our village distillery Glen Garioch. In addition to a choice of draft lagers, stouts, cider and craft ales we have three hand pumps providing some of the best cask conditioned ales in Scotland, which change on a weekly basis. Our keen interest in predominantly Scottish real ale has been recognised nation wide over the years with numerous awards from the Campaign for Real Ale. Our fine wine list is available for those looking for something special to accompany their meal. Our chefs use the freshest of ingredients sourced locally where possible our menu is international with a strong hint of Scotland including vegetarian and gluten free options. Changed on a regular basis our menu is served in our main lounge or dining room which can also be reserved for private parties or business meetings. Our accommodation comprises of one twin and five double rooms all of which are furnished to a 4 star Visit Scotland standard. Rooms and balconies are all non-smoking, en-suite and offer the usual refinements. Situated on the first floor the rooms are self contained providing guests with ease of access at all times. Our front rooms enjoy unsurpassed views of the surrounding countryside. As a visitor to Oldmeldrum you are well placed to enjoy the rolling landscape, stretching from the Cairngorm National Park to our beautiful coastline with its small fishing villages, cliffs, marine and bird life. Where the narrow streets and interesting houses of Oldmeldrum reflect the irregular plan of a medieval market town. The name itself means 'burn of the bare hill ridge' from 'Allt' meaning burn, 'Maol' bare and 'Druin'. More castles and distilleries can be found in Aberdeenshire than any other part of the country. Boasting three fishing rivers, the River Dee, River Don and River Deveron as well as sea and loch fishing, visiting fisherman are in their element. An abundance of stunning links and parkland golf courses are also on our doorstep for you to enjoy. In the summer months Aberdeenshire hosts a number of traditional festivals and Highland games. Whether you plan to hike, cycle, golf, visit castles, distilleries meet for business or just take some time out to relax, The Redgarth is well suited to any of these activities and we are very happy to help you get the most from your visit to the area.
