The History of Medicine Society of Wales aims to explore and promote matters of historic significance related to medicine and allied subjects within Wales. The society hosts meetings that feature lectures, presentations, exhibits, and visits that cater to members' interests, with gatherings taking place alternately in North and South Wales.

Membership is open to anyone with a special interest in medicine, including clinicians, medical students, pharmacists, nurses, and historians. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, meetings were halted in 2020, but in-person events gradually resumed in 2021, supported by audiovisual recordings made available for those unable to attend.
