Gales Wine Bar

The wood panelled Wine Bar's character is largely unchanged from the original 9 table experience back in the 70’s. It now boasts 20 tables and a covered outdoor area but still works on the foundations of great food using the best local ingredients and wine expertly picked to offer the best range and value. Gales has a busy, informal nature with service that is friendly and knowledgeable. 'Simple food done well' has long been the motto in the kitchen at Gales, and while the team here do like to, on occasion, dazzle with something outrageous, the core principles are never strayed from too far. Steaks, burgers, ribs, and other classics remain on the menu next to the ever changing and evolving specials. We want to cater to everyone here. Gales has always been a place where groups big and small can be happy in the knowlegde that their tastes will be catered for.
