Pontarddulais, literally translated as "Bridge on the Dulais," is a town in Wales named after a 14th-century road bridge that spanned the River Loughor. The name reflects its historical position upstream of the Dulais stream, as well as the development of the village around this vital crossing point.
Most of Pontarddulais lies within the Parish of Llandeilo Taly Bont, while a small section to the west is located in Llanedi Parish. The town is also known for its local history, including the medieval church of St Teilo, which was carefully reconstructed and now resides in The Museum of Welsh Life in St Fagans, Cardiff.
