Welcome to The Goat Major... A traditional pub in the heart of Cardiff city centre. Our name comes from our close association with the 41st Regiment of Wales and we’re a great old pub that has classic décor, and are famed for our 'pie only' menu. BEERS: We're known for our wonderfully kept real ales that include, Brains Dark, Brains Bitter, SA (straight from the cask on the back bar), and have a guest ale on at all times, including Brains Brewery's new CRAFT BEERS (limited availability). We also have plenty of soft drinks, bottled beers and spirits, including Welsh spirits from the Penderyn distillery. MENU: We are the only pub in Cardiff (& Wales perhaps) to have a "PIE ONLY" menu. They are all freshly cooked on site and are delicious. On the set menu we have - Steak & Ale, Pork, Pork & Pork, Chicken, Pea & Bacon, Cheesy Leek, Lamb & Rosemary... and of course The Best British Pie 2010 Award Winning - Wye Valley Pie.. A visit to Cardiff really isn’t complete without a pint of beer in one of our leather wing-backed armchairs and a chat with our friendly and professional tattoo clad bar staff.
