Alaska Native Heritage Center

Established in 1999, Alaska Native Heritage Center is a nonprofit organization, serving people of Alaska. The center is an educational and cultural institution and provides various programs in both academic and informal settings, including workshops, demonstrations, and guided tours of indoor exhibits and outdoor village sites. It undertakes cooperative programs with universities, schools and museums at the local, national and international levels, as well as in the circumpolar region. The organization provides scholarly lessons on native traditions and customs for adults and youth. The Alaska Native Heritage Center offers its educational programs to a diverse audience, including Alaska Natives, Anchorage residents, students, tourists, and scholars. The center operates heritage gifts shop, an official marketplace for the organization, offering denim shirts, T-shirts, canoes, floral services and other gift items.
