American Tax Policy Institute

The American Tax Policy Institute, based in Rochester, NY, is an esteemed organization dedicated to promoting sound tax policy and advancing tax scholarship. Comprised of exceptional tax attorneys who have made significant contributions to their profession, the Fellows of the American College of Tax Counsel work together to engage in thoughtful discussions with the government and provide recommendations for improving the nation's tax laws.

Through its affiliated organizations, the American Tax Policy Institute and the Tannenwald Foundation, the College supports public conferences on tax policy issues, encourages scholarly publications, and sponsors the annual Griswold Lecture on Tax Policy. Additionally, the College provides input to the judicial system by filing friend of the court briefs in selected tax cases, further contributing to the improvement of the tax system.
