American Kyokushin Karate Organization, founded in 1997 by Hanshi Donald Buck, carries on the legacy of teaching Sosai Mas Oyama's Kyokushinkai Karate. Serving as a hub and historical repository, this institution upholds the rigorous and practical martial art style cultivated by its pioneering figures. Matsutatsu Oyama, the revered Kyokushin Founder, established the foundation for this discipline, renowned for its tough, intense, and impactful nature. Known for his remarkable demonstrations, including bare-handed bullfighting and legendary one-punch victories, Sosai Oyama earned the moniker "God Hand," embodying the essence of Kyokushinkai Karate. Hanshi Donald Buck, the visionary behind the American Kyokushin Karate Organization, cemented his legacy as the first U.S. student of Sosai Oyama. Pioneering his dojo in San Francisco in 1957, Hanshi Buck's dedication culminated in his recognition as a 7th Dan and Branch Chief of the United States, appointed by Sosai Oyama. Continuing this tradition, his son, Frederick Buck, now leads as the President, carrying forth the spirit and teachings of Kyokushinkai Karate.
