Established in 1992, Westmed is a vertically integrated ISO 9001 medical device manufacturing company. The company develops, manufactures and markets disposable anesthesia and respiratory medical devices. In 1997 Westmed merged with Vortran Medical Technologies, a market leader in aerosol delivery with its patented HEART nebulizers. Westmed soon after acquired the assets of Medtrac Technologies, a leader in developing and manufacturing drug compliance and outcomes monitors for respiratory mediums. The merger and acquisition positioned the company for continued growth and established it as a product leader in the respiratory market. In 2002 the company acquired the assets of Owens-BriGam Medical Company, which was a manufacturer of anesthesia disposables. This expanded its product portfolio to include heated humidification, heated respiratory circuits, arterial blood gas kits, anesthesia circuits, masks and other disposables. Westmed s manufacturing, administration and customer service operations are located in Tucson, Ariz.
