Estrella Mountain Community College, located in Avondale, Ariz., offers a variety of educational and extracurricular programs and services, and is a part of Maricopa Community College District. Founded in 1990, the college provides educational opportunities and work force training, and serves more than 280,000 residents. It offers a wide variety of associate degrees, university transfer partnerships and multiple specialized certificate programs. Estrella Mountain Community College also provides the SouthWest Skill Center that offers a variety of short-term, hands-on training that prepares people for job options. Its various academic divisions include counseling and developmental education, instructional computing and liberal arts. The college also offers a library and occupational education, science and mathematics programs.
