Farhad Darbandi, MD

Matthew T. Weichbrodt, DO is a fellowship-trained hand, microvascular and upper extremity specialist with The CORE Institute. His extensive training in orthopedics makes him a valuable addition to the distinguished CORE faculty. Dr. Weichbrodt received a bachelor's degree in biology with minors in chemistry and marketing from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. He then completed a doctorate of osteopathic medicine from Oklahoma State University while serving as class president for two years. Dr. Weichbrodt continued his training in orthopedic trauma at the Florida Orthopedic Institute, followed by a stint at the Cincinnati Children's Hospital honing his skills in pediatric orthopedics. Dr. Weichbrodt earned the designation of chief resident in the orthopedic surgery residency program at Oklahoma State University, where he was also the team physician for several local semi-professional and high school athletic teams. In his free time, Dr. Weichbrodt enjoys spending time with his family, coaching, skiing and playing competitive soccer.

In clinical practice, I work to understand each patient's concerns, which in hand surgery are all unique. Because of this, treatment options are not necessarily straightforward. I believe in educating patients to understand their underlying problem, and then discuss with them available nonsurgical and surgical treatment options. Knowledge empowers patients to make the best possible treatment decision for themselves. I am conservative, and will try to exhaust nonoperative treatment options prior to surgical interventions when possible.
