Olsens Market Place

History

Don Olsen was in the grocery business all his life, starting at an early age in his father's store in West Seattle, Washington. His first job was cleaning and crating the glass soda pop bottles ready for return to the distributor. Don came to Yuma, Arizona with his young family in 1975. He operated grocery and convenience stores in Yuma, Wellton, San Luis and Fishers Landing. Through his service in Rotary, Olsens meat department prepared the Kammann sausage for annual fund raisers. In 1992 Don moved Olsens Marketplace IGA to Ajo, AZ. Bryanne Olsen continues his grocery legacy in both, Ajo and Yuma.
