The Academic Film Archive of North America, based in San Jose, CA, is the only institution in the U.S. dedicated to documenting the history of 16mm classroom academic films, as well as historically significant non-academic films in areas such as anthropology and medicine. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the AFA focuses on acquiring, preserving, documenting, and promoting academic film, while providing valuable resources for scholarly research and public access.

The AFA is committed to saving and digitizing films that are at risk of being lost, offering opportunities for individuals to sponsor the preservation of these important cinematic works.
