History

After being a Dental Hygienist in private practice for over 10 years, the dental community began to change. The COVID-19 pandemic brought an awareness to the many difficulties and risks associated with coming to the dental office, especially to those with previous disabilities. With a vision in mind, Brightwork Dental Hygiene was launched in 2021. Now all individuals are able to receive quality dental hygiene appointments, whether or not they can make the trip into the office.

My name is April Durant, RDHAP, and I am a dental hygienist for the homebound, aging, and special-needs patients in our community. Many of our elderly population have had years of dental work completed only to leave their dentition neglected later in life. It is a daunting task to transport the aging to their dental visits and can be both costly and time consuming. By traveling to the home, patients receive oral cancer screenings, professional dental cleanings, mobile digital X-ray services and many other preventative services. My mobile dental equipment is easily set up either bedside or in a separate designated area within their home or facility . After an examination with low-radiation digital X-rays and intra-oral images I am able to properly care for the patient in my scope of practice and refer any additional work that needs to be done. My goal is to leave no patient unable to receive proper oral hygiene care so please call to schedule an in home visit today!
