Bergsen has been providing cold finished carbon steel out of Southern California since 1974. Bergsen was founded in 1974 by Bob Bergquist (formerly of A.M. Castle) and Lou Spitsen (formerly of Pacific Tube). They began a distribution center of cold finished carbon products. Together, they creatively called it Bergsen, and originally started as a full bundle distributor located in Downey, California. Brown Metals Company, founded in 1970, specializes in supplying custom-slit and coiled thin gauge stainless steel and high temperature alloys. The company is an authorized distributor for Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corporation and Somers Thin Strip and furnishes production-size quantities with custom order specifications. It has one of the largest inventories of thin gauge stainless steel coil product on the West Coast.
