American Cancer Society Inc. is a voluntary health organization in the United States that works towards eliminating cancer as a health problem. Based in Burbank, Calif., the organization helps to prevent cancer as well as assists people get well by being there for them during and after a cancer diagnosis. It has 12-chartered divisions and more than 900 local offices throughout the United States. American Cancer Society Inc. is a Better Business Bureau (BBB) accredited organization.
