The Madera County Workforce Development Office operates programs for both adults and youth who need help finding a good job. It provides a variety of services for the people living in Madera County who are interested in finding work, going to school and/or training or improving their skills to move up in their workplace. The Madera County Workforce Development Office also provides services to local employers. In addition, it offers Customized training, tax credits and other financial incentives. The Workforce Development Office is a unit of the Madera County Office of Education as well as a partner and the operator of the One-Stop Center.

The Madera County Food Bank has been addressing the food needs of the Madera community since 1999, operating five essential programs aimed at supporting families and senior citizens. With a network of sixteen EFAP distribution sites and twenty Senior Brown Bag sites, the Food Bank serves the entire city of Madera, Chowchilla, Fairmead, and surrounding mountain areas including Raymond, Coarsegold, Oakhurst, and North Fork.
