The City Council, a part of the City of Camarillo in California, adopts policies for the operation of city government and appoints the city manager to administer those policies. The council is comprised of five members who are elected to serve four-year term. The City Council represents the City in its entirety. The City of Camarillo operates various departments. Its building and safety services department handles the inspection and plan check needs of city. The City of Camarillo s department of community development administers and implements state and local planning and zoning laws, city's general and specific plans, subdivision and sign ordinances and assists in coordinating economic development activities.
