Lakewood City Hall
The Lakewood City Council appoints a city manager and an attorney. The city council also sits as the board of directors of the Lakewood Redevelopment Agency and the Lakewood Housing Authority. In addition, the Lakewood City Council appoints various commissions, such as community safety, planning and environment, and recreation and community services. The city council is operated by the government of the city of Lakewood, Calif., which operates public safety, fire, sheriff, and planning and building departments. The City of Lakewood additionally operates various swimming pools that offer a variety of swim instruction programs and recreational opportunities. Its facilities include community centers, parks and picnic shelters.
