Clos Solène is a small, family-owned winery, in the heart of Willow Creek in Paso Robles, California. Guillaume, our 6th generation winemaker, as well as our owner and farmer, was born in Languedoc-Roussillon, a region in the South of France. Winemaking is running in the family's DNA, and it was no different for Guillaume. His parents had an estate in the Languedoc-Roussillon, but sold it after Guillaume graduated, and moved to Bordeaux where they had another estate. This is in Bordeaux that Guillaume had a bolt of lightning for the love of his life, Solène. But, not convinced to want to make his wine in Bordeaux, he flew to California in 2004 and took an internship at L'Aventure, in Paso Robles. Once again he fell in love, but with the country and its wine. Convinced by their love and Guillaume's passion, Solène followed him, and this latter created a vineyard after his muse and inspiration.
