Founded in 2007, California Skin Institute is one of the Silicon Valley's largest firms in dermatology, laser and cosmetic surgery practices. Located in San Jose, Calif., the institute specializes in body-liposuction, botox/chin implants, face lifts, facial reconstruction, fat transfer surgery, hair transplantation, laser resurfacing and liposuction. California Skin Institute houses a micrographic surgery lab consisting of three cryostats and histotechnologists, providing skin cancer removal and reconstruction services. It also features art diagnostic and therapeutic facilities consisting of 35 examination, laser and procedure rooms.

Dr. Michele Mak-Fung is a board-certified dermatologist in San Jose who provides expert care for both adults and children. She treats a wide range of skin conditions, from eczema, acne, and rashes to more complex dermatologic concerns. She is committed to helping patients improve their skin health and confidence through personalized treatment plans that address both medical and cosmetic needs. Fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin, Dr. Mak-Fung ensures clear communication and a comfortable experience for patients of diverse backgrounds. She earned her medical degree from Yale University, where she also completed her dermatology residency.
