Erica Rath Psychotherapy, MFT

History

I hold an undergraduate degree in sociology and a master's in Integral Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies. I also have years of post-graduate clinical experience working with individuals, couples, children, teenagers, and families. This clinical experience includes: the Marina Counseling Center, Golden Gate Counseling Center, Kaiser Permanente's Child Psychiatry department, and Edgewood Center for Children and Families. Currently, I am working with many couples and studying the Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples (EFT).

Specialties

Therapy is a process of re-claiming your wholeness, peeling back the layers and understanding what is motivating your behavior and choices. It offers the possibility of changing your relationship to difficulty and discovering your inner resources. In this process insight develops. Compassion and support are at the heart of my work including using here and now awareness (mindfulness). I also gently challenge in ways that promote growth. I see individuals, couples and children. The magic of this work never ceases to amaze and inspire me.
